GREENSBURG, Pa. – The Bloomsburg baseball team closed out its season series with No. 11 Seton Hill by splitting its doubleheader with the Griffins on Sunday afternoon.

Grant Russo (Sugarloaf, Pa./Hazleton Area) and
Drew Balestrini (Sunbury, Pa./Shikellamy) led Bloomsburg (9-3) with three hits each on the day. Russo went 3-for-3 in game one with two runs and an RBI while Balestrini went 2-for-5 in the second game. 11 different Huskies crossed the plate to score on the day including
Jace Jarmon (Millsboro, Del./Sussex Central) who tallied three runs.

Game One – Bloomsburg 13, Seton Hill 0

The Huskies got on the board first in the third inning as a single from Russo moved Jarmon to third base before scoring the opening run on a fielding error from the second baseman. Balestrini then singled to place runners on first and second.
Dylan Hirsh (Yardley, Pa./Pennsbury) lined a single to right field to score Russo. Balestrini then made it 3-0 for the maroon and gold as he scored on a wild pitch.

Bloomsburg held Seton Hill without a hit in the third and fourth innings before going back on the offensive in the top of the fifth. Jarmon and Russo both drew walks at the start of the frame before moving both runners moved to scoring position on a wild pitch. Balestrini drew a walk that saw ball four get away from the pitch, allowing Jarmon to make it 4-0. A sacrifice bunt from
Dylan Hirsh (Yardley, Pa./Pennsbury) allowed him to reach on a fielder's choice while scoring Russo.

After
Mike Miller (Lafayette Hill, Pa./Plymouth Whitemarsh) drew a walk to load the bases,
Casey O'Brien (Moosic, Pa./Riverside) the. Reached on a fielder's choice that saw Balestrini get thrown out at home.
Anthony Trommer (Trevose, Pa./Neshaminy) made it 6-0 for the Huskies by drawing a walk with the bases loaded.
Nathan Kress (Lansdale, Pa./La Salle College H.S.) brought two runs home, scoring Miller and O'Brien on a single up the middle.

Jarmon drew his second walk off the inning to load the bases once more before a wild pitch allowed Trommer to cross home plate and make it 9-0. Back-to-back singles to the shortstop from
Matt Freda (Lafayette, N.J./High Point Regional) and Russo scored Kress and Jarmon as the Huskies took an 11-0 lead after five innings of play.

Bloomsburg tacked on two more runs in the contest with
Joe Levis (Fort Washington, Pa./Upper Dublin) scoring in sixth and Jermey Stine making it 13-0 in the seventh.

Aiden Murphy (Mountain Top, Pa./Wyoming Seminary) threw a complete game shutout as he allowed just four hits and one walk while striking out four. The senior is 3-0 on the mound and holds a 0.00 ERA and an opposing batting average of .095.

Game Two – Seton Hill 7, Bloomsburg 3

The nightcap saw Bloomsburg once again open up the scoring as a pair of RBI singles to right field scored Balestrini and Hirsh for a 2-0 lead.

Seton Hill (12-5) notched its first run of the day with Mason Metz leading off the bottom of the third with solo home run. The subsequent at bat saw Austyn Winkleblech triple to right field before being scored by Jack Whalen to tie the game.

The Griffins took the lead in the fourth on a sacrifice fly from Metz. Seton Hill tacked on three more runs in the fifth, taking a 6-2 lead in the second game of the twin bill. The bottom of the eight saw the home side score its seventh run of the day on a wild pitch.

After loading the bases in the ninth, Balestrini scored
Ryan Flury (Lancaster, Pa./Manheim Township) with a groundout to the second baseman. The Huskies couldn't keep up the moment for the comeback, falling 7-3 in the nightcap.

Landon Lorson (South Williamsport, Pa./South Williamsport) was tacked with his first loss of the season after giving up three runs in 3.1 innings pitched.
Xander Velez (Reading, Pa./Governor Mifflin) tossed 3.1 innings of work as well, striking out two.

The Huskies are back in action on Friday, March 20 as they host Shepherd for their PSAC opener at 1 p.m. at Danny Litwhiler Field.
