BLOOMSBURG, Pa. – The Bloomsburg women's lacrosse team opened with an early spark but No. 7 East Stroudsburg used a pair of first-half scoring runs to pull away for a 22-7 PSAC East victory Wednesday afternoon at Steph Pettit Stadium.

Bloomsburg struck first just 51 seconds into the game as
Delaney Fox (Barto, Pa./Boyertown) finished a feed from
Kayla Stressman (Harleysville, Pa./North Penn) to give the Huskies an early 1-0 lead and set the tone with aggressive draw control play.

East Stroudsburg responded quickly, tying the game at 12:44 before unleashing a decisive 7-0 run over the next 11 minutes. The Warriors capitalized on multiple free-position opportunities and extra-player situations to build an 8-1 lead after the opening quarter.

The Huskies showed resilience in the second quarter, generating one of their strongest stretches of the afternoon. Goals from
Molly Clifford (Springfield, Pa./Springfield) and
Brianna Austin (Plymouth Meeting, Pa./Plymouth Whitemarsh) came just 13 seconds apart to trim the deficit to 10-3, and
Marykate Sitko (Pennsburg, Pa./Upper Perkiomen) added another to keep momentum on Bloomsburg's side.

Despite the push, East Stroudsburg answered with a late 5-0 run in the final three minutes of the half to take a 15-4 advantage into the break.

Bloomsburg continued to compete in the third quarter, matching stretches of play with the nationally-ranked Warriors. Fox opened the half with her second goal of the day, and
Alexis Guzylak (Corning, N.Y./Horseheads) converted on a man-up opportunity off a feed from Fox.
Samantha Keck (Denver, Pa./Cocalico) later added a free-position goal as the Huskies produced a three-goal frame.

Defensively, goalkeeper
Emily Graham (Wantagh, N.Y./St. Anthony's) delivered a milestone performance, recording seven saves and surpassing 100 career saves with a key stop in the fourth quarter -Â her fourth save of the game -Â to anchor the Huskies' defensive effort.

East Stroudsburg closed the game with a 4-0 run in the final quarter to secure the 22-7 result.

Fox led Bloomsburg with two goals and an assist, while Sitko, Austin, Keck, Clifford, and Guzylak each found the back of the net. The Huskies finished with 22 shots and 11 ground balls, continuing to battle throughout against one of the top teams in the region.
Sitko and
Emily Simpson (North Wales, Pa./Lansdale Catholic) led the team with four draw controls each while
Emily Gauker (Mohnton, Pa./Governor Mifflin),
Brigid Keaveney (Massapequa Park, N.Y./Massapequa), Fox, and Graham each had a pair of ground balls.Â
The Huskies return to action on Saturday when they visit Shepherd University for a 1:00 p.m. PSAC East contest.Â
