WEST CHESTER, Pa. – The No. 5-seeded Bloomsburg baseball team saw its 2026 season come to an end in the NCAA Atlantic Regional, dropping both games to No. 4 East Stroudsburg and No. 1 West Chester on Thursday.

Casey O'Brien (Moosic, Pa./Riverside) led Bloomsburg (27-21) at the plate, going 5-for-10 on the day with a pair of doubles and a triple.
Justin Weaver (Coatesville, Pa./Coatesville) drove in three runs for the maroon and gold, while notching four hits on the day.
Grant Russo (Sugarloaf, Pa./Hazleton Area) scored three runs while recording three runs and two hits.

Game One – East Stroudsburg 14, Bloomsburg 5

Russo got things started for the Huskies, taking the second pitch up the middle for a leadoff single. A walk to
Jace Jarmon (Millsboro, Del./Sussex Central) set the stage for Weaver, who drove in the opening run on an RBI-single to right center field. A fielding error allowed
Anthony Trommer (Trevose, Pa./Neshaminy) to reach on a sacrifice bunt to score Jarmon. O'Brien's right field single brought Weaver across the plate as the Huskies took a 3-0 lead after the top of the first.

East Stroudsburg (37-14) responded in the bottom of the frame, scoring a pair on two hits and an error. The Warriors jumped ahead to an 8-3 lead in the third inning, scoring six runs off four hits.

A double from
Matt Freda (Lafayette, N.J./High Point Regional) followed by back-to-back walks to Russo and Jarmon loaded the bases. Weaver drove a two-out, two-RBI single to left field to pull the Huskies within three.

ESU scored four runs off four hits in the bottom of the fifth to extend its lead to seven runs. The Warriors notched two more runs in the seventh en route to its eventual 14-5 victory.

Game Two – West Chester 15, Bloomsburg 4

Russo started game two in similar fashion to the first game, getting on base with a leadoff single before advancing to second on a failed pickoff attempt. A right field single from Weaver put runners on the corner for Trommer. The left fielder drove in the first run of the game, singling up the middle to score Russo. An RBI-single to centerfield from
Drew Balestrini (Sunbury, Pa./Shikellamy) made it 2-0 for the Huskies.

West Chester (40-10) got one back in the bottom of the frame, bringing in a run on a sacrifice-fly. The Golden Rams tied it in the second on a sacrifice bunt. The third inning saw the hosts record a second sacrifice-fly to take the 3-2 lead.

WCU surged ahead in the fourth, scoring 11 runs off six hits, five walks and a hit by pitch.

Bloomsburg got back on the scoreboard in the top of the sixth as a leadoff double from O'Brien and a walk to
Dylan Hirsh (Yardley, Pa./Pennsbury) set up
Jeremy Stine (Springfield, Va./West Springfield) for an RBI-single through the left side. Back-to-back fielder's choices allowed Hirsh to cross the plate for the Huskies' fourth run.

The Golden Rams notched one more run in the bottom of the sixth before eventually eliminating the Huskies with a 15-4 win.

The Huskies end the 2026 season with a 27-20 record while making its first NCAA Tournament appearance since 2021 and going 14-14 in PSAC play.
