CLEVELAND, Ohio – Bloomsburg Director of Athletics
Dr. Michael McFarland has been appointed to the National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics (NACDA) Executive Committee, the organization announced earlier this week.
McFarland will serve on the Executive Committee and is one of two NCAA Division II representatives alongside Grand Valley State Director of Athletics Keri Becker. NACDA also elected fellow Division II administrator Pennie Parker, associate vice president of athletics at Rollins College, as its president for the 2026-27 term.
"It is a privilege to continue serving both NCAA Division II and the broader collegiate athletics community through the NACDA Executive Committee," said McFarland. "Division II occupies a unique and important place in higher education, and I am excited to work collaboratively with colleagues across all divisions and associations to strengthen opportunities for student-athletes while advancing the mission of intercollegiate athletics."
Joining Parker on the NACDA officer slate for 2026-27 are First Vice President Gene Taylor of Kansas State, Second Vice President Reagan Rossi of The College of Idaho, Third Vice President Ed McLaughlin of VCU and Secretary Christina Hundley of Paradise Valley Community College.
Newly elected Executive Committee members for the 2026-27 term include McFarland, Chad Briscoe of Grace College, Donnie Brooks of Macalester College, Dan Clauss of Saddleback College, Shawn Heilbron of Stony Brook University and Jim Senter of UTEP.
The Executive Committee also includes Jennifer Baker (Johns Hopkins), Kanoe Bandy (Taft College), Keri Becker (Grand Valley State), Aaron Bouyea (Ithaca), Adrian Dowell (Omaha), Jenn Fraser (NCAA), Sherryta Freeman (Lafayette), Nina King (Duke), Desireé Reed-Francois (Arizona), Matt Roberts (College of Charleston), Kristen Schuth (Genesee Community College), Drew Watson (Southeastern) and Natalie Winkelfoos (Oberlin).
McFarland has established himself as a national leader in collegiate athletics administration through extensive service at the conference and national levels. He recently completed his term as past president of the Division II Athletic Directors Association (D2ADA) after previously serving as president, first vice president, third vice president and a member of the organization's Board of Directors.
His national service also includes chairing the NCAA Division II National Field Hockey Committee, serving on the NCAA Women's Soccer Regional Advisory Committee, chairing the PSAC Athletic Administrators, serving on the PSAC Executive Committee and Advisory Council, and acting as the conference liaison to the PSAC Men's Soccer Committee.
At Bloomsburg, McFarland chairs the Department of Athletics Faculty and serves on numerous university leadership committees focused on strategic planning, facilities, curriculum, student success and institutional governance.
