QUEENS, N.Y. - The Bloomsburg volleyball team drops game to Wayne State and sweeps Queens to end invitational play in New York.
Sasha Moody (Abington, PA/Abington Senior) led both teams in kills against Queens while
Hannah Au (Coatesville, Pa./Coatesville) led both teams in aces.Â
Game one - Bloomsburg 0, Wayne State 3
The Huskies fell to Wayne State 3-0. They lost in the first set 25-7 with
Abigail Eagler (Greencastle, Pa./Greencastle-Antrim) and
Katie Kuehl (Aston, Pa./Archmere Academy (Del.)) earning kills.
The second set had a final of 25-12 as Eagler earned some more kills.
The final set ended with a final of 25-7 as Wayne State won the match 3-0.
Game two - Bloomsburg 3, Queens 0
The Huskies dominated in the first set as they only allowed Queens to score only eight points. Au had multiple aces in this set with
Sophie Wales (Port Matilda, Pa./State College),
Lena Jones (Middletown, Pa./Middletown Area) and Kuehl having kills.
The second set was much closer with Bloomsburg having a 21-13 lead late in the set. Queens came back to drop the lead to just two. Moody had a kill and an ace to help end Queens comeback and take a 2-0 lead in the match.
Bloomsburg completed the sweep by winning the final set 25-19 with Moody earning more kills and advance the Huskies to 3-1 on the season.

The Huskies will travel to Philadelphia to play American International and Holy Family in an invitational held by Jefferson. Game one will be at 1:30 p.m. and game two will be 6:30.
