GREENSBURG, Pa. - The Bloomsburg women's soccer team rebounded from its previous result with a 2-0 win over Seton Hill Saturday afternoon.

The Huskies (2-3) controlled the tempo for most of the contest, including the first half, where Bloomsburg scored its two goals to hold on against the Griffins (2-3-1). Freshman
Whitney Evancho (Hockessin, Del./Saint Marks) was the hero offensively for the Huskies, credited with scoring a brace in her first collegiate game. Making her first collegiate start,
Courtney Rebar (Throop, Pa./Mid Valley Secondary Center) helped the Huskies to their second clean sheet of the season, making three saves in the process.

How It Happened:
Looking for an early spark, the Huskies were on the attack in the early portion of Saturday's contest. The first 10 minutes belonged to Bloomsburg, recording three corner kicks and two shots in that timeframe. Seton Hill responded with the first shot on target of the match, as Rebar registered the opening save of the day in her first collegiate start. The Huskies, however, remained the more threatening side, following up the attempt by the Griffins with another four shots and two corners in the 10 minutes that followed.

The mounting pressure by Bloomsburg finally broke through the Seton Hill defense, with a pair of new faces helping the Huskies get on the scoreboard. After cycling play around the back to switch the field, Bloomsburg quickly restarted play from a throw-in. On the receiving end was
Jordan Andrews (Mountain Top, Pa./Crestwood), who initially split two defenders before chopping back onto her right foot to whip in a cross. The threatening ball found the head of Evancho inside the box as the ball reached the back of the net for a 1-0 lead.

A few more shots would fly in the dwindling moments of the first half before the Huskies beat the clock to double their advantage. After winning the ball back with just over 30 seconds remaining in the half, Bloomsburg punted the ball up the field to clear it. A bad touch from a Griffin defender led to a throw-in. The Huskies once again got off a quick restart, with another cross whipped in from the wing, this time from
Kennedie Huber (Mountain Top, Pa./Crestwood), taking a direct deflection off a defender just inside the 18-yard box. Wasting no time, Evancho fired off a shot from her left foot in the bottom left corner to beat the Seton Hill goalkeeper and the clock for another Bloomsburg goal.

The game settled down in the second half, and despite the teams getting a handful of shots off, none warranted concern on the final result. Rebar came when needed in the second half for the Huskies, handling a couple of long-range attempts by the Griffins and effectively coming off the line when required. In the end, Bloomsburg maintained their composure with the lead and saw out the game.

4 - The Huskies have heavily rotated in a number of players this year and Saturday's contest saw that rotation within the starting lineup. Four players for Bloomsburg made their first collegiate starts, including Rebar,
Kelsey Beatie (Middletown, Del./Appoquinimink),
Morgan Pennisi (Huntingdon Valley, Pa./Lower Moreland), and
Sophia Verlinghieri (Ridley, Pa./Archbishop John Carroll). In total, 17 players have made a start for the Huskies through the team's first five games.

The Huskies keep their sights on the road as they take on Lackawanna at 3:30 p.m. for a nonconference matchup on Wednesday, September 16.
