WEST CHESTER, Pa. - The Bloomsburg men's soccer team could not find the back of the net despite a flurry of chances in a 1-0 defeat to West Chester Saturday afternoon.

The Huskies (4-3-1, 0-2 PSAC East) finished with a double-digit edge in shots against the Golden Rams (2-2-2, 2-1 PSAC East) but could not find an equalizer to a first-half goal in the 31st minute from the home side. The goal for West Chester was just one of three shots for the hosts.

How It Happened:
Bloomsburg set its sights on finding a goal in the first half, coming away with four clear chances to do so.
Zayd DeVeaux (Philadelphia, Pa./Springside Chestnut Hill Academy) put the first shot of the match on frame inside the fourth minute to set the Huskies' attacking tempo.
Connor Fiadino (Burlington, N.J./Burlington Township) followed up the chance in the 18th minute with a one-two passing setup on a low-driven effort. The Golden Rams goal in the 31st minute broke up Bloomsburg's attacking efforts with a set piece. A long ball into the box from just inside the half-line made its way to just outside the six-yard box where it was nodded down and slotted home by Lukas Bentsen.

The Huskies continued to commit bodies forward, now hoping to find an equalizer.
Sam Palmer (Shoreham, N.Y./Shoreham-Wading River) made the first attempt for Bloomsburg after the goal, cutting in from the right wing with a shot stopped with intent on the bottom corner.
Julian Dix (Gambrills, Md./Crofton) had the chance to slot in a redirected ball into the box but was swiftly denied by a kick save to send the Huskies into the halftime break trailing.

With West Chester intent on shelling for the remainder of the contest, the Huskies could not create their necessary defining moment in the match. Bloomsburg rattled off another five shots on target, most of which were well-intended efforts from range. The Huskies arguably had their best opportunity to tie the match inside the final minutes of the contest.
Caleb Sitler (Palmyra, Pa./Palmyra) hammered an attempt from outside the box that was parried over the crossbar, leading to a Bloomsburg corner. The succeeding corner sent the West Chester goalkeeper into the air, only able to knock down the ball to the feet of
Logan Coone (Mars, Pa./Mars Area) to fire off a shot into a sea of Golden Rams crowding the six-yard box and eventually into the hands of West Chester's goalkeeper.

On the Horizon:
The Huskies jump pack into PSAC East action with a trip down to West Chester on Saturday, September 19, at 2:30 p.m. to take on the Golden Rams.
