BUFFALO, N.Y. - The Bloomsburg field hockey team shuts out three straight after 7-0 victory at D'Youville.
The offense featured
Alyxandra Flick (Bloomsburg, Pa./Central Columbia) scoring two goals.
Sophie Lawler (Newport, Pa./Newport) scored her third goal in two games to make it her third of the season.
Kaylyn Elliott (Clarks Summit, Pa./Abington Heights) also earned her third goal of the season.
Emma Hornbaker (Enola, Pa./East Pennsboro) and
Jordan Bond (Dallas, Pa./Dallas) earned their first goals of the season while
Taylor Fry (Selinsgrove, Pa./Selinsgrove Area) got her first goal of her collegiate career.
Raegan Iasiello (Northampton, Pa./Northampton)Â had two assists in the game and now leads the team in assists with five.
Genna Bush (Boiling Springs, Pa./Boiling Springs) and Lawler combined on the assist on Bond's goal.
Lexy Freed (Selinsgrove, Pa./Selinsgrove) and
Faith Jampo (Ambler, Pa./Wissahickon)Â also got their first assists of the season.
Molly Bross (Perkasie, Pa./Pennridge) had three saves on the day and
Allison Brown (Nanticoke, Pa./Greater Nanticoke) had the Huskies' first defensive save of the season.
First Half:
There was no scoring in the first period, but held D'Youville to only one shot in the period.
Elliott opened up the scoring birage by the Huskies by finding the net thanks to the assist from Jampo. Iasiello then found Flick for the goal to put Bloomsburg up 2-0.
Second Half:Â
Lawler then gave the Huskies a 3-0 lead which was her third goal in three days. Flick and Bond had back-to-back goals to increase the lead to 5-0.Â
In the final period, Lawler found Fry for her first collegiate goal to bolster the lead further. To end the game, Hornbaker finished it with one final goal 7-0.
On the Horizon:
Bloomsburg will return to Steph Pettit Stadium to play Bentley on Sept. 26. The game will start at noon.
