MANSFIELD, Pa. - The Bloomsburg women's soccer team came away with a 4-1 victory on the road against Mansfield Wednesday afternoon.

The Huskies (5-3, 3-3 PSAC East) took advantage of three goals in the first half to earn the win over the Mountaineers (1-7, 0-6 PSAC East). The home side found one goal inside the final two minutes of the opening half, but it was not enough to dissuade Bloomsburg from achieving the final result.

How It Happened:
The Huskies found their way onto the scoreboard just past the 10-minute mark of the contest. After initially earning a corner kick on one side of the field, the ensuing kick from the set piece made its way through the box and to the other side of the field. Coming away with the ball was
Anika Krasnai (Lancaster, Pa./Manheim Township), who stepped into a cross that made its way past the outstretched leg of one defender and to
Olivia Thompson (Pottstown, Pa./Owen J. Roberts), with the senior forward slotting home the finish for a 1-0 lead.

Bloomsburg's advantage doubled in the 29th minute off a mistake from the Mountaineers' goalkeeper misreading a pass back, unable to chase the ball down before it crossed the goal line to make it a 2-0 contest. The third goal of the afternoon for Bloomsburg followed three minutes later. The Huskies took full advantage of set pieces once more, this time with a service from
Lindsey Bull (Bloomsburg, Pa./Central Columbia) directly into the box. Her pass made its way directly to and off of
Jordan Andrews (Mountain Top, Pa./Crestwood), leaving
Haley Bull (Bloomsburg, Pa./Central Columbia) alone in front of the net to poke home the finish.

Mansfield got one goal back in the closing minutes of the first half, as a long-range effort from well over 30 yards out got the Bloomsburg defense off guard to make it a 3-1 scoreline heading into halftime.

The Huskies would remain in control of the contest as the second half dwindled, preventing the Mountaineers from using their first-half goal as a springboard for more. Bloomsburg added one final goal in the second half with just over 10 minutes remaining. The sequence began with a cross into the box by the Huskies, initially cleared away by a Mansfield defender. The ball curved directly into the path of
Madelyn Blake (Bloomsburg, Pa./Central Columbia), with the defender taking an immediate touch inside to look for passing room. Her target was Andrews, as the freshman took the hard-driven pass into the 18-yard box off her right foot before squaring the scoring effort away on her left to put a finishing note on the midweek clash.

The Huskies keep their sights on the road with a trip to Shippensburg to take on the Raiders for a 1:00 p.m. contest on Saturday, September 26.
