PHILADELPHIA - The Bloomsburg volleyball team drops bout to the Jefferson Rams 3-0 in their final game at Jefferson's invitational.
Katie Kuehl (Aston, Pa./Archmere Academy (Del.)) finished the match with 11 kills while
Abigail Eagler (Greencastle, Pa./Greencastle-Antrim) added seven.
The match started with a back-and-forth first set with each team trading points. Jefferson then started to pull away after they reached double digits. The Huskies did start to roll by earning four points straight to build momentum, but the Rams kept the pressure and won the first set 25-15.
The second set was much closer with the Huskies not allowing the lead to go past four points. They even took the lead late into this set with 17-16 score with Jefferson having multiple attack errors. The Huskies were right with the Rams late with it being 23-22 in Jefferson's favor, but the Rams would then take the second set.
Bloomsburg took an early lead in the final set with a 2-0 lead. The two teams were neck-and-neck until the Rams gained too much momentum for the Huskies. The final set ended 25-16 and the match goes to Jefferson.
On the Horizon:
The Huskies will travel to Slippery Rock, Pennsylvania to take part in the university's invite. They will play Roberts Wesleyan at 7 p.m. on Sept. 11.
