Danny Litwhiler Award—Underclass Male Athlete of the Year
One of the charter members of the Bloomsburg Hall of Fame, Danny Litwhiler was an outstanding baseball player for the Huskies. He played professionally for the Philadelphia Phillies, playing a complete season without an error. Litwhiler was the first player to hit at least one home run in every ball park in Major League baseball. Along with the Phillies, he also played for the St. Louis Cardinals, Boston Braves and Cincinnati Reds. He was the coach at Florida State and Michigan State and is a member of the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics Hall of Fame. The Huskies’ baseball field is named in his honor. He passed away in 2011.
