SAAC April 2016 Meeting

    • Read over the Attendance Policy reiterated the attendance policy

Community Service & Engagement Opportunities throughout the Spring Semester

  • Food Recovery: Courtney Noll will send an email the Friday before and the Monday of with directions. Covered who is currently signed-up, reminded that they will receive an email reminder with directions
  • Huskies Hall of Paws Fundraiser Good Job…received some feedback from teams, they liked this fundraiser. They said it was easy to distribute paws and collect money. Some people forgot about it.
    • Total Collected: $1,708.25
  • Make-A-Wish Collections:4/4/16 Total: $3,527.75
    • Next home game collections: Noted that we needed sign-ups for some games that do not already have collectors
      • APRIL
      • 4-8-16 Baseball 1pm & 3pm vs West Chester/Softball 2:30pm & 4:30pm vs. Lock Haven
        • Track signed up for Baseball from 12:45-3:00pm
        • Football signed up for Softball from 2:15-4:00pm
      • 4-16-16 Football Spring Game 11am/Lacrosse 1pm vs Mercyhurst/Softball 1pm & 3pm vs. IUP/ Baseball 1pm & 3pm vs Millersville
        • Field Hockey signed-up from 10:30am-12:00pm
  • Future Feedback from athletes: They like the idea that regular students would be introduced to upper campus and make them more inclined to come to sporting events.
    •  Thursday of move-in week: Pep Rally
      • Community Service Award $1,000.00 in PSAC and $5,000.00 Nationally
  • Make-A-Wish Dodgeball Tournament We have one team signed-up, encouraged teams to create a team, it does not have to have their athletic team members…outside members are allowed and encouraged.
    • Sunday, April 10, 2016 5pm-TBA in NFH Gym
    • Everyone who volunteers MUST be cleared

  • PSAC Sportsmanship Award Possible nomination from Men’s Swimming
    • The PSAC Sportsmanship Award will be presented to the student-athlete that best exemplifies the spirit of sportsmanship and must have demonstrated the values of respect and integrity through a specific action ideally directed toward an opponent. The nominee must have represented his/her institution in a positive way during competition.  A team may be considered if extraordinary circumstances exist; otherwise, only individuals will be considered.

    • Monday, May 2, 2016 we will be voting for new board members at this meeting. If any members were interested they were asked to stay after the meeting.
  1. If you are a senior or will not be a part of SAAC next year (Fall 2016) please speak with your coach on who will be replacing you in SAAC.  You and the new member must be present at the last SAAC meeting of the year. Bring replacement so they understand where to go and what they will be doing next semester.
  2. If you are interested in running for a position on the Executive Board please stay after the meeting.
