  • Ethan Walgran
    • Any clearance questions? This is mandatory if you volunteer through SAAC. Students completed clearance form as Ethan answered questions and talked the students through the clearance process
  • Husky Pride Points – Lacrosse is in the lead.
  • SAAC Folder- Courtney reiterated the attendance policy and the process of missing a meeting. See Attendance policy on the SAAC web pages for more information.

Community Service & Engagement Opportunities throughout the Spring Semester

  • Food Recovery: Courtney Noll will send an email the Friday before and the Monday of with directions.
  • Make-A-Wish Collections: Total: $1,831.60 (2/23/16) Discussed collection dates, where we currently stand with collections.
    • Next home game collections:

      • 3-15-16 Lacrosse game 4pm vs. ESU (Women’s Swimming singed-up from 3:45-4:45pm)
      • 3-19-16 SOFTBALL GAME ONLY 1pm & 3pm vs Millersville (Women’s Basketball Signed-up from 12:45-3:00pm)
      • 3-26-16 BASEBALL GAME ONLY 1pm & 3pm vs. Mansfield (NEED VOLUNTEERS)
      • 3-29-16 Lacrosse game 4pm vs. West Chester (Women’s Soccer Signed up from 3:45-4:45pm)
      • APRIL
      • 4-2-16 M/W Tennis 2pm vs. West Chester /Baseball 1pm & 3pm vs Lock haven/Lacrosse 1pm vs. Seton Hill (NEED VOLUNTEERS)
      • 4-8-16 Baseball 1pm & 3pm vs West Chester/Softball 2:30pm & 4:30pm vs. Lock Haven (Track signed up for Baseball from 12:45-3:00pm) (Football Signed up for Softball from 2:15-4:00pm)
      • 4-16-16 Football Spring Game 11am/Lacrosse 1pm vs Mercyhurst/Softball 1pm & 3pm vs. IUP/ Baseball 1pm & 3pm vs Millersville (Field Hockey Signed-up from 10:30am-12:00pm)
  • Big Brothers/Big Sisters P-Nut Bowl for Kids’ Sake Fundraiser March 19, 2016 9am-5pm
    • Teams of 5, visit bbbsnepa.org and follow prompts to register their team, members, and choose a desired bowling time (1/2 hour increments) groups more than 5 create more than 1 team
    • Once registered you can ask people to sponsor you/your team all sponsored money should be brought on the day of the event
    • For joining you get one free game of bowling, free refreshments, music and chances to win prizes; team captains get a free-t-shirt and if you raise $50.00 you are entitled to a t-shirt too
    • Helps an “at risk” child in Columbia County have a brighter, more successful future
    • No feedback from any teams
  • SAAC/FAR Meeting
    • March 19-20, 2016 at Lock Haven University
    • Attendees: Ryuta Amaike/Robert Lenahan & Julia Gantz
  • Big Event Just and FYI and discussed that coaches received registration form in their mailboxes.

  • Huskies Hall of Paws Fundraiser. Expressed the importance of collecting, keeping the money safe. Hand them in as you go so they can go up on the wall in NFH. Also discussed where to hand them in with the money; Joclyn Ford’s office room 222.
    • The entire month of March
    • Each team is responsible for “selling” as many of their 100 paws as possible (if you need more there are extra)
    • Minimum donation is $1.00 per signature on the paw
    • Will tape paws to wall across from Hall of Fame in NFH
  • Husky Youth Day (Softball Outfield) Quick overview of what this day is. Emphasized the importance of clearances for this event. Also said it was really hard to get volunteers for this in past years, clearance will make this even harder.

Other

  • PSAC Sportsmanship Award Noted that there are no submissions from Bloomsburg or other schools in the PSAC.
    • The PSAC Sportsmanship Award will be presented to the student-athlete that best exemplifies the spirit of sportsmanship and must have demonstrated the values of respect and integrity through a specific action ideally directed toward an opponent. The nominee must have represented his/her institution in a positive way during competition.  A team may be considered if extraordinary circumstances exist; otherwise, only individuals will be considered.
  • Issues?
    • Baseball laundry white jerseys still look dirty when returned from laundry service
    • Treadmill is broken in the pool.
