Brenden Argomaniz enters his first season as a graduate assistant at Bloomsburg University where he will serve as the Huskies pitching coach.
Prior to beginning his coaching career, Argomaniz pitched three seasons at the University of Richmond under former Bloomsburg University pitching coach Josh Epstein. At Richmond, Argomaniz served as a weekend starter for the Spiders. In 2022, he led the pitching staff and ranked in the top 10 in the Atlantic 10 Conference with a 3.70 ERA (6th) and a .236 BAA (6th). He limited the opposition to 18 hits in 28 innings of work in A10 play (.186 BAA). The Spiders made back-to-back Atlantic 10 Tournament Appearances in 2022 and 2023, including a runner-up finish in the 2022 tournament championship.
Before Richmond, Argomaniz played at Orange Coast College in 2019 and 2020 under the late head coach John Altobelli. As a freshman in 2019, Argomaniz logged 40 innings as the Pirates went on to a 39-9 record. The 2019 season culminated with OCC securing its fourth CCCAA State Championship title in 10 years. Orange Coast finished third in the 2019 Perfect Game National Junior College Rankings.
He also spent summers playing in the Alaska Baseball League, West Coast League, and California Collegiate League.
Argomaniz graduated magna cum laude from Richmond with a bachelor’s degree in Political Science, garnering UR’s Presidential Citation Award and Atlantic 10 All-Academic Team honors along the way. He is a native of Montclair, California. He now resides in Bloomsburg.
