Jack Lydic

Jack Lydic begins his seventh season with the Huskies as the quarterbacks/receivers coach in 2018. Lydic, following the retirement of offensive coordinator Brian McBryan, was elevated to that role in January and will begin his first season calling the plays for the Huskies’ offense.

Under Lydic’s tutelage in 2016, the Huskies’ developed a strong young duo in redshirt freshman Michael Allen and true freshman Ethan Price who developed into big-play receivers. Allen, who was named to the All-PSAC East Second Team, finished second on the team with 29 catches while leading the squad with 464 receiving yards. Price, meanwhile, caught 17 passes for 309 yards and two scores. The rookie led the team in yards per catch (18.2) while Allen finished second (16.0).

Lydic graduated in 2005 and was a three-year starter at Bloomsburg. During his career, the Huskies won four PSAC Eastern Division championships. As a senior team captain in 2005, Lydic led the Huskies to an undefeated regular season and a Division II playoff appearance. He earned Second Team All-PSAC honors in 2004 and 2005 and is currently ranked fifth on the all-time passing yards list with 5,186 yards and is ninth in career touchdown passes with 31.

Following his playing days at Bloomsburg, he went on to play quarterback for the Hamburg Blue Devils of the German Football League (GFL) and Budapest Cowboys of the Central European Football League and was a member of the offensive coaching staffs for both teams. He led the GFL with 31 touchdown passes while throwing for more than 2,700 yards in 2007.

In 2008, Lydic was named the quarterbacks coach at Susquehanna University where he helped the Crusaders to a conference championship in 2009 and was part of the Liberty League Coaching Staff of the Year. In 2011, he was named the offensive coordinator at Misericordia University, which played its first-ever game in 2012.

Lydic is a native of Selinsgrove and resides in Espy with his wife, Sarah, and two sons.
