Keenan Chesnick

  • Title
    Assistant Coach
Keenan Chesnick begins his sixth season on the Huskies’ coaching staff in 2018. Chesnick will handle the Huskies’ offensive line for the second time this season as he replaces legendary line coach Brian McBryan, who, after 23 seasons on the staff, retired in December of 2016. Chesnick will also handle video coordination and will serve as the pro liaison.

In 2017, Chesnick worked with first team All-PSAC East selection Travis Krall.

Chesnick worked with the running backs last season after working primarily with the tight ends in each of his first three seasons. Chesnick also stepped in to coach the offensive line for several weeks last season while McBryan was on medical leave after undergoing prostate cancer surgery.

Under Chesnick’s guidance last season, the Huskies’ running attack had another strong season, led by senior Lawrence Elliott, Jr. The tailback rushed for 1,014 yards and a conference-leading 20 touchdowns. It marked the seventh straight season, and 13th time in the last 14 years, that the team has had a 1,000-yard rusher.

All told, the Huskies averaged 170.5 yards per game on the ground and totaled 26 rushing touchdowns. Now, Chesnick will take over a unit that has traditionally played a vital role in the program’s strong ground game.

Chesnick graduated from Bloomsburg in 2013 with a degree in psychology. A former member of the Huskies, Chesnick’s playing career as a linebacker was cut short after a series of knee injuries. He previously spent three years as a student assistant for the defense.

Before coming to Bloomsburg, Chesnick worked as a member of the equipment staff for both the New York Jets and the Cleveland Browns.
