Michael Hamlin

Michael Hamlin returned to Bloomsburg University in 2015-16 and is in his seventh season as the assistant men's basketball coach.

Bloomsburg went 5-21 overall and finished with a conference record of 4-18. Senior guard Justin Anderson led the team's scoring as he averaged 18.7 points per game during a season that saw him make the PSAC All-Conference First Team at the end of the season. Senior Travis Elmore also averaged double figures with 11.1 points per game. Jake Nelson nearly averaged a double-double with his team-leading 9.2 rebounds per game and 8.8 points per game.

Prior to the 2020-21 season being canceled due to COVID-19, the Huskies went 11-17 overall and 8-14 against conference opponents during the 2019-20 season. The squad won its final two games of the season at home against Shippensburg and Kutztown to close out the year. The team was led offensively by three players that averaged over 10 points per game. Leading the way was Anderson with 17.1 points and close behind was Ky Mauras with 16.9 points per game. Max Wagner averaged 15.6 points and Elmore put up 9.6 points per game.

In 2018-19, the Huskies finished 7-19 overall and 3-17 in conference play. Elmore highlighted the Huskies season with his breakout season. During his freshman season, Elmore averaged 15.7 points per game and 7.4 rebounds in his debut season with the Huskies.

Prior to Bloomsburg's 2018-19 season, the Huskies made three consecutive conference playoff appearances. In 2017-18, the squad went 11-11 in the PSAC and 15-12 overall. Bloomsburg fell to Kutztown University in the opening round of the tournament. In 2016-17, the Huskies made the playoffs for the second year in a row only to bow out after an 84-77 setback to West Chester, at home, in the opening round of the tournament.

In Hamlin's return to Bloomsburg during the 2015-16 season, the Huskies finished with a 17-10 overall record and a 15-7 mark in the PSAC Eastern Division. The Huskies won 10 of their final 12 regular season games but suffered an 80-78 loss at Shippensburg in the opening round of the PSAC tournament to end the season. The 17 victories marked the most by the Huskies since the team went 19-9 during the 2011-12 campaign.

Prior to rejoining Bloomsburg, Hamlin had a one-year stint at Mansfield as the team's lead assistant in 2014-15. During that season, he helped guide the Mountaineers to within one game of the PSAC playoffs with key victories over East Stroudsburg, Bloomsburg, and Lock Haven down the stretch.

Before serving as a lead assistant at Mansfield, Hamlin was a member of the Huskies' staff from 2007 to 2014, where he served as a student assistant and later volunteer assistant under head coach John Sanow. During that span, the Huskies made three consecutive playoff appearances from 2012 to 2014, including a share of the 2012 PSAC East regular season championship. He was also on the bench when the team captured the program's first playoff victory since 2002 - an 82-71 victory over Kutztown in the opening round of the 2014 tournament.

Hamlin graduated from Bloomsburg in 2011 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration with a concentration in management.  He is a native of Philadelphia and a graduate of the Fels High School where he was a member of the basketball team and was co-captain of the team as a senior.
