Robbie Hughes

Robbie Hughes joins the Bloomsburg University men's soccer coaching staff for the 2014 season as the team's graduate assistant coach.

Hughes comes to Bloomsburg after a playing career at the Division I level, suiting up for both Syracuse and Binghamton. While with The Orange, Hughes started all 12 games he played as a freshman center back in 2010, making the most starts of any Orange freshman that season. He helped the team contribute to three shutouts. In 2011, he was a member of the SU Athletic Director's Honor Roll in fall and spring.

He transferred to Binghamton for the 2012 season and started 16 games for the Bearcats, tallying two goals and two assists and was a member of the America East Honor Roll and also was named the 2012-13 America East Men's Sportsmanship Recipient.

Hughes earned a spot on the 2013 America East All-Tournament Team as a senior, starting 18 games for Binghamton with two more goals. He was again a member of the Spring AD Honor Roll.

Prior to coming to America, Hughes captained the England U-18 squad as well as the Merseyside school boys and Liverpool County FA club teams.

A graduate of Binghamton University with an undergraduate degree in History, Hughes is currently working toward a Master's in Instructional Technology at Bloomsburg.
