Thomas Coombes

Thomas Coombes joins the Bloomsburg University men's soccer staff in 2018 as the graduate assistant under first-year head coach Danny Wheelan. Coombes will be working on his Master's Degree in instructional technology.

A native of Newcastle, England, Coombes enjoyed a fine four-year playing career at Barry University and then stayed on as a volunteer assistant coach in 2017. During his career, Coombes tallied 33 goals and 15 assists for 81 points in 64 appearances with the Buccaneers. Following his senior season in 2016, he was named to the All-Sunshine State Conference First Team, the Division II Conference Commissioners Association (D2CCA) All-South Region First Team, and was a CoSIDA Third Team Academic All American®.

He was named to the Sunshine State Conference Commissioner's Honor Roll three times and earned the Jon Samford Team MVP Award as a freshman in 2012.

Coombes graduated from Whitley Bay High School in 2009 and was the team's top scorer with 22 goals in 19 games as a senior. He graduated from Barry in 2016 with a degree in sport management.
