Gary Sohosky was hired as the first head coach of the newly formed men's and women's golf programs prior to the fall of 2020 and was at the helm for both teams during their inaugural seasons of competition during the 2021-22 academic year.

Last fall, the men's golf team finished ninth overall at the 2022 PSAC Men's Golf Championships with an overall team score of 993 after three rounds. At the championships outing, Jarred Berrish led all Bloomsburg players with a team-low score of 238 (+22), which led him to finish tied for 25th overall. Matt Pulcinella finished tied for 38th with 249 strokes (+33), and Jason Uebelacker was tied for 41st and was one stroke behind Pulcinella with 250 strokes (+34).

During the spring season, the women's golf team finished seventh overall in the team standings with a combined score of 721 after two rounds. The third round of the 2023 PSAC Women's Golf Championships were canceled due to rain. At the championship event, Olivia Martinez had the highest placement of any Bloomsburg golfer as she finished tied for 17th with 171 strokes (+27). Ryleigh Faust was tied for 30th overall with 183 strokes, and a pair of Huskies were right behind Faust as Julia Zonca shot a 184 (+40) and Sarah Vietmeier finished with a 185 (+41). Gianna Pelzer rounded out the team's scorecard with a 189 (+45).

In the spring of 2022, the women competed in their first-ever PSAC Championship competition and placed seventh overall as a team. Gianna Pelzer had the highest individual placement as she finished 24th overall and she was followed closely behind by Olivia Martinez, who was 25th.

During the fall of 2021 under the guidance of Sohosky, the men finished 10th at their first-ever PSAC Championship meet as sophomore Jason Uebelacker and freshman Pat Ueblecker placed 41st and 44th for the Huskies.

Sohosky is at the helm for the newest athletic programs after serving as the head golf professional at Frosty Valley Resort while also serving as the head instructor, club technician, and club-fitter at Tee to Green Golf Center. Before his tenure at Frosty Valley, Sohosky was the head golf professional at Mill Race Golf and Camping Resort from 2017-18.

TPC of Scottsdale serves as the permanent site of the Phoenix Open on the PGA Tour. Sohosky has been a Class A PGA Golf Professional since 1980 and has worked at many PGA teaching clinics and workshops, throughout the country, since 1983.

At the collegiate level, Sohosky served as the head coach at Penn College of Technology, where he led the team to three conference titles from 1993-98.

Sohosky is a 1975 graduate from Marian High School, and he is a 1980 graduate of the PGA Business School, which is when he was elected to PGA Membership.
