Chad Anthony Announcement

Chad Anthony

Bloomsburg Athletics welcomes Chad Anthony as the head coach of its men's and women's golf programs, Director of Athletics Dr. Michael McFarland announced Friday, August 15.

Anthony comes to Bloomsburg after building Lock Haven Athletics' women's golf program from the ground up, serving as the Bald Eagles' first head coach since the sport was added in 2018. He led the program for six seasons, guiding it to record-breaking performances, multiple tournament victories and steady improvement in the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) standings.

At Lock Haven, Anthony's teams consistently set new program marks. In 2022-23, the Bald Eagles earned their first win in school history with a 410–426 victory over Susquehanna, then followed with three more victories in 2023-24. Under his leadership, Skylar Smith set the program's individual single-round record with an 84 at the 2024 ESU Invitational. Anthony's teams also posted their best PSAC Championship finishes and round scores during his tenure.

During his final season at Lock Haven, the Bald Eagles won the Misericordia Tri-Match with a team score of 386 and had the second-best team round of 376 at the East Stroudsburg Invitational. Lock Haven finished 10th at the PSAC Championships that season and Smith finished tied for 33rd.

Before starting Lock Haven's program, Anthony spent four seasons as head varsity golf coach at Milton High School, where he revitalized the program and led it to a seven-win season in 2019. He also brings more than a decade of golf industry experience, having served as director of golf and head golf professional at Wynding Brook Golf Club and later as head professional at Clinton Country Club.

A former collegiate baseball player, Anthony is a 2002 graduate of Belmont Abbey College, where he earned a degree in therapeutic recreation.

Anthony will begin his role at Bloomsburg on August 23, 2025, taking over both the men's and women's programs as they prepare for the 2025-26 season.
