Sarah Stagaard is in her first season as the graduate assistant coach for the Huskies' women's lacrosse team.
Stagaard comes to Bloomsburg University after a stellar four-year playing career at Grand Valley State where she was a two-time team captain for the Lakers. She earned All-GLIAC Second Team honors as a junior after scoring 40 goals while winning 37 draw controls and picking up 27 ground balls. She never missed a game in her career and finished with 84 goals and nine assists for 93 points.
A native of Allentown, Stagaard graduated from Parkland High School in 2016. A two-time team captain at Parkland, Stagaard earned First Team All-Area and EPC All-Star accolades as a senior when she scored 78 goals and added 21 assists for 99 points. She was also named the team's Most Valuable Player that season.
While at Grand Valley State, Stagaard was a member of the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) and worked at a number of camps and clinics. She works as a lacrosse trainer at St. Luke's Sports Performance where she helps younger athletes with speed, agility, and specific lacrosse skills. Stagaard also was a Health Aide at Sunset Communities Home and has volunteered with a number of organizations including Special Olympics, Feeding West Michigan, and GVSU Best Buddies.
Stagaard is currently working on her Master's degree in business administration.
