Justin Rodkey will begin his second season as a volunteer assistant coach with the Bloomsburg University women’s soccer program in 2012.
Rodkey comes to the program with over 10 years of coaching experience in a variety of sports and at all levels (Club, Interscholastic, and Intercollegiate). He is currently an Instructor in the Department of Exercise Science here at BU. In addition, Rodkey has spent the previous three years as the head coach/advisor for the women’s club soccer program. In his three seasons guiding the club, his teams have been competitive while compiling an overall record of 6-6-3.
Prior to arriving at Bloomsburg, Rodkey was a Lecturer in the Department of Health and Human Performance at Messiah College (PA). While at Messiah, he served as the head men’s and women’s club soccer coach/advisor for two years, and was an integral member in the formation and development of these programs. His teams competed against Division I, II, and III opponents, twice advanced to the NIRSA Regional Tournament, and compiled an overall record of 21-6-7. In addition, Rodkey served as an interim Aquatic Director and assistant baseball coach.
Additionally, Rodkey was an assistant women’s basketball and volleyball coach at Chowan University (NC), an Assistant Director of Athletics (Internship)/assistant baseball coach in the Philipsburg-Osceola School District (PA) and was an Aquatic Director for the Harrisburg Area YMCA - West Shore Branch (PA).
Rodkey holds a Master’s degree in Recreation and Sports Science from Ohio University and earned his Bachelor’s degree from Penn State University.
