Stephanie Anderson enters her fourth season at the helm of the Bloomsburg University women's soccer program in 2015.
The Huskies finished the 2014 season with a 7-8-3 overall record, possessing one of the top defenses in the PSAC, allowing just 19 goals during the year. Bloomsburg defeated two nationally ranked teams, dropping No. 17 Gannon (1-0) and No. 24 Slippery Rock (3-1) and took Atlantic Region semifinalist East Stroudsburg to overtime. Five of the Huskies' eight setbacks came by just one goal. Three Huskies earned All-PSAC accolades and for the second straight season a BU player was named All-Region by the NSCAA (Chrissy Hollan).
Anderson led the Huskies to a 9-9-0 record in 2013, a three-win improvement over the 2012 season while the Huskies also picked up three additional PSAC victories over the previous season. Bloomsburg finished the season by winning its final three matches to jump into the NCAA Division II Atlantic Region Top 10 rankings.
Under Anderson, the Huskies greatly improved their offense in 2013 by scoring nearly 1.0 goals per game more than in 2012. The Huskies also had three players receive All-PSAC honors as forwards Tara Huber and Jenna Fisher along with senior defender Kelsey Holtz all picked up all-conference honors. Both Huber and Fisher also earned All-Atlantic Region accolades from the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA), marking the first time since 2010 that multiple Bloomsburg players picked up All-Region honors. Huber received a spot on the Daktronics All-Region team as well.
Anderson's teams have received the NSCAA Team Academic Award in two consecutive seasons, with the Huskies earning a cumulative team GPA of 3.36 in 2012-13.
Anderson came to Bloomsburg after serving as the assistant coach at Bucknell University in 2011. She previously served as a graduate assistant at Drury University in Missouri and as an assistant at her alma mater, Nebraska Wesleyan University.
During her time as a player at Nebraska Wesleyan, Anderson, a three-year captain, played in all 73 games in four seasons, starting all but four. She helped her team achieve an overall record of 50-18-5 (.719) as a player, including back-to-back Great Plains Athletic Conference regular season titles in 2005 and 2006. NWU put together a 26-matches home winning streak (23-0-3), which was the second longest active streak in Division III women's soccer.
She ranked ninth all-time in career goals with 32, was a three-time all-conference selection and earned four letters for the Prairie Wolves. As a sophomore she was named offensive MVP and received the honor again as a senior, when she was also named team MVP.
Anderson, who majored in psychology at Nebraska Wesleyan, earned a master's degree in organizational leadership and change at Drury. She holds a National USSF “D” License and has taken part in both the NCAA Leadership Symposium and the NCAA Women's Coaching Academy. She also attended the Algarve Cup Coaching Symposium in Portugal.
