Assistant Coach, Cross Country/Track & Field

Artman enters her tenth year on the Huskies coaching staff in 2018-19. Before coming to Bloomsburg, Artman was the assistant coach for the men's and women's cross country and track & field programs at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (Troy, N.Y.) for two years.

While with the Engineers, Artman served as a throws coach as well as an assistant for the cross country teams. Her responsibilities included administrative duties, recruiting, and meet management.

At Bloomsburg, Artman has coached the school record holders in the men's and women's weight throws; the men’s and women's indoor shot put; the women’s outdoor shot put; the men’s and women's hammer throw; and the men’s and women’s javelin throws. A 2007 graduate of Bowdoin College (Brunswick, Maine) where she captained both the women’s indoor and outdoor teams, Artman set school records in the indoor and outdoor shot put, 20lb weight throw, and hammer throw. She received All-ECAC and All-NESCAC honors multiple times during her four years as a Polar Bear.

While qualifying six times, five times she competed in the NCAA Division III National Championships, earning All-American status thrice in the 20lb weight throw, finishing as the national runner up her senior year.

In addition, Artman was recognized as a National Strength and Conditioning All-American by the National Strength and Conditioning Association in 2007. In 2010 Artman earned her USATF Level II certification in the throws.
