Craig “Boomer” Fechko enters his first season as a volunteer assistant coach at Bloomsburg University. Before coming to Bloomsburg he spent the last two seasons as a graduate assistant coach for the Dakota Wesleyan University wrestling team in Mitchell, South Dakota.
Fechko, a Broadview Heights, Ohio, native, helped coach 15 wrestlers who qualified for the NAIA National Championships and one NAIA All-American.
Fechko graduated in 2009 with a degree in business administration from Heidelberg University, an NCAA Division III school in Tiffin. He wrestled at Heidelberg, but earned NCAA Division II All-American honors at the University of Findlay prior to going to Heidelberg University.
Before going to Dakota Wesleyan, Fechko was the head wrestling coach at Quincy High School in Quincy, California and was also the assistant wrestling coach for the Legends Of Gold club team in Quincy.
Fechko graduated in May, 2012 with an educational policy and administration degree from Dakota Wesleyan.
