MarcAntoni Macias begins his second year at Bloomsburg and will work with the middle weights for the Huskies along with performing administrative duties.
Macias wrestled collegiately for Campbellsville University in Campbellsville, Ky., from 2005 to 2008. He graduated with a bachelors of science degree in Physical Education and minor in Coaching. Macias was part of the first class to graduate from Head Coach Frank James’ program which started at Campbellsville at 2004. While wrestling at CU, he qualified for the NAIA National Tournament in 2007 and 2008 at 141 and 133 lbs, respectively.
After graduation in 2008, Macias became an assistant wrestling coach for the reinstated Colorado State University-Pueblo team. While there, he was responsible for development of the light weights along with the academic support of the team.
In 2009, Macias joined the staff at the University of Maryland, where he was an administrative assistant. There, he assisted with daily operations of summer camps, assisted with recruiting by researching prospective student athletes, and prepared recruiting paperwork for distribution. His daily administrative responsibilities included video production, editing, and weekly highlight video creation along with providing support for varsity and club program fundraising.
While at Maryland, he served as an assistant wrestling coach with the Terrapins Wrestling Club, where he planned and conducted practices and clinics, provided individualized coaching, and implemented skill development programs for wrestlers of all ages and skill levels.
Macias, who hails from Alexandria, Va., has been a long time club coach at Gunston Wrestling Club from 2004-2010.
Macias resides in Bloomsburg. He will also continue his wrestling career at the senior level in freestyle.
