Carl Andrews is a Board Certified and Pennsylvania Licensed Athletic Trainer with more than three decades of experience in collegiate athletics, sports medicine, injury rehabilitation, and event medical management. Throughout his career, he has built a reputation for delivering high-level athlete care, developing comprehensive healthcare policies, and leading medical operations for collegiate, amateur, and elite sporting events.

Andrews currently serves as Assistant Athletic Trainer at Bloomsburg, where he provides medical coverage for 23 NCAA varsity sports and is the lead Athletic Trainer for field hockey, wrestling, and baseball. His responsibilities include injury evaluation and rehabilitation, emergency care, NCAA drug testing administration, athlete medical documentation, and supervising and mentoring athletic training students and work-study staff. He works closely with coaches, physicians, and university administration to ensure the health and safety of student-athletes across all athletic programs.

Prior to joining Bloomsburg, Andrews spent 20 years as Head Athletic Trainer at Wilkes University, overseeing every aspect of athletic healthcare for the university’s NCAA Division III athletic department. During his tenure, he supervised a team of athletic trainers and graduate assistants, managed departmental healthcare budgets, processed athletic injury insurance claims, and coordinated medical coverage for conference championships and large-scale athletic events. Andrews also developed and implemented the university’s concussion management protocols, return-to-play and return-to-learn policies, mental health support procedures, and comprehensive athletic training policy and procedure manual. He additionally served as the institution’s Athletics Healthcare Administrator and coordinated care for high-profile events including the annual Wilkes Open Wrestling Tournament.

In addition to his collegiate experience, Andrews is the owner of Athletic Training Services, LLC, where he provides athletic healthcare staffing and medical management for major basketball camps, tournaments, and wrestling events throughout the region. Through his company, he has worked with nationally recognized organizations including Hoop Group, 3 Step Sports, Premier Events, Elite Events, and USA Wrestling. He has served as lead medical provider for numerous championships and showcase events, delivering sideline emergency care, injury management, and event medical coordination for athletes competing at elite levels.

Andrews also dedicated 20 years serving Geisinger Orthopedics, where he provided athletic training services and medical coverage for collegiate athletics as well as PIAA district and state championship events. Earlier in his career, he worked extensively in orthopedic rehabilitation and physical therapy settings in New York, helping diverse patient populations, including professional athletes, recover from injuries and return to activity.

A graduate of Pennsylvania State University with a Bachelor of Science degree, Andrews has remained committed to advancing the athletic training profession through mentorship and education. He serves as a Certified Athletic Training Preceptor for students from King's College, Marywood University, East Stroudsburg University, and Lock Haven, helping guide and prepare future athletic trainers entering the profession.

Outside of athletics and sports medicine, Andrews enjoys spending time with his family. He and his wife, Karen, are proud parents to Lauren, Jack, and Jordan, whose support and encouragement continue to motivate his lifelong commitment to healthcare, education, and athletics.
