Daniel Barber, DAT, LAT, ATC, SMTC
Daniel Barber was raised in Northwest Indiana and graduated from Chesterton High School. It was here, under the guidance and mentorship of his high school athletic trainers that his passion for athletic training profession began. After high school, he continued his pursuit of knowledge and desire to help physically active individuals at the University of Indianapolis, graduating in 2008. After working for several years, as the profession began to progress and add new entry-level skills, he decided it was time to return to the classroom, and finished his Doctor of Athletic Training at Moravian University in 2020. It was through this time at Moravian that grew his expertise in the areas of manual therapy; upper extremity evaluation and treatment, and orthopedic rehabilitation. He finished his Sports Manual Therapy Certification through the Institute for Athlete Regeneration in September 2024.
In addition to his academic experience, his clinical experience has also provided a plethora of opportunities to apply and perfect his approach to manual therapy and therapeutic rehabilitation. This includes providing Athletic Training Services through multiple high schools in the State of Indiana, Outpatient Rehabilitation Clinics, Chiropractic Spine Center through Community Care Network, and has finally landed him at the Commonwealth University of Pennsylvania Bloomsburg since April 2023.
In his free time, he enjoys reading and is an avid movie fan with Lord of the Rings, Harry Potter, The Shining are some of his favorite books/movies. When he is back in Indiana with family, time is often consumed with board games, Uno, and playing Rummy.
