Head coach John Stutzman has announced Mitch Moore as his assistant coach for the Bloomsburg wrestling program. Moore begins his official duties on September 7.
 
Moore comes to Bloomsburg after a successful career on the mat. Moore is a five-time NCAA Tournament qualifier for Rutgers, the University of Oklahoma, and Virginia Tech. Most recently, Moore capped his career at Rutgers as a graduate transfer for the 2023-24 season and finished sixth in the Big Ten Tournament and qualified for the NCAA Championships.
 
Before Rutgers, Moore wrestled for three seasons at Oklahoma University. With the Sooners, Moore was a two-time NCAA Tournament qualifier and led Oklahoma to their first Big 12 Conference Championship in 20 years. Moore Finished third at the Big 12 Tournament in 2023 and was the tournament runner-up in 2021. Moore served as the team captain from 2021 to 2023.
 
Moore began his collegiate wrestling career at Virginia Tech during the 2018-19 season. He was the ACC Freshman of the Year in 2019 and the ACC Tournament runner-up that season. The 141-pound grappler was a two-time NCAA Tournament Qualifier for the Hokies.
 
During his six-year career on the mat, Moore compiled an 89-44 record and wrestled both at 141 pounds and 149. Moore went 19-9 during his last season at Oklahoma and had 51.9% of his wins come by bonus points during his freshman season at Virginia Tech.
 
Before arriving at VT, Moore was a four-time Ohio High School state champion from Urbana, Ohio, and was the 30th wrestler in state history to accomplish that feat.
 
When not wrestling, Moore spent the last 11 years as a wrestling clinic instructor throughout clinics in Ohio, New Jersey, Oklahoma, Virginia, Michigan, and Pennsylvania. Moore taught over 1,000 youth wrestlers about the sport, techniques, and fundamentals. He developed multiple wrestlers personally and athletically into current and future Division I grapplers.
 
Moore is a 2022 graduate from the University of Oklahoma with a Bachelor of Arts in criminology. He is pursuing his Master of Science in global sports business from Rutgers University with an anticipated graduation date of December 2024.
