Tony Ianiero returned to the Huskies coaching staff in 2021 following previous stints during 2011, 2014 and 2015 as the teams running backs coach. Ianiero previously served as Vice President for University Advancement at Bloomsburg from 1993-2001. In addition, he joined the University administrative staff as the Director of Development and also served as the first Executive Director of the Bloomsburg University Foundation beginning in 1983. Prior to his time at Bloomsburg University, Ianiero served in an administrative capacity at the College of New Jersey (formerly Trenton State College).

During the 2011 season, running backs Franklyn Quiteh, Eddie Mataeo, and Matt Cox earned All-American honors as well as regional and conference recognition.

Ianiero also previously coached at Bloomsburg from 1987 – 89 serving as outside linebacker coach under Pete Adrian. Previous to Bloomsburg University, Ianiero spent 10 years as an assistant coach at the College of New Jersey, the last seven as defensive coordinator. During that period, the Lions registered six straight winning seasons, won two conference titles and were ranked nationally with a record of 47-19-2.

A graduate of The College of New Jersey, Ianiero has both a Bachelor’s degree in History and a Master’s degree in Student Personnel Services. He lettered four years in football and baseball and was inducted into the College’s Hall of Fame as a player and a coach in 1999.

Ianiero retired in 2010 as President/CEO from the Pennsylvania State System of Higher Education Foundation in Harrisburg.  Ianiero is married to Pam and has three grown children, Jennifer, Kristin and Joseph, all graduates of Bloomsburg University. In addition, Tony and Pam have six grandchildren. Ianiero is also an “Honorary Alumnus” 1997, from Bloomsburg University.
