Stu Marvin enters his fifteenth season as head coach of the Men's and Women's Swimming Teams at Bloomsburg University in the fall of 2022.

Under Marvin’s guidance, the men's team finished second at the PSAC Championships in 2022, after winning their first-ever PSAC Team Championship in 2021. Prior to that, they had placed second at the conference championships in seven of the past eight seasons, as well as posting the first undefeated season in the history of the program in 2017. The women have placed second at the championships in five of the past eight years and own a 57-23 won-loss record during that span.  Forty-one different swimmers have won PSAC championships, claiming a total of 68 event victories. Seventy-seven different swimmers have been named All-Conference, amassing an impressive 447 All-Conference awards. Marvin has qualified swimmers to the NCAA Championships in nine of the past ten years, where nineteen different athletes have been named All-American, totaling 67 All-American awards.   For his efforts, Marvin was named PSAC Women’s Coach of the Year in 2015 and received the men’s honor five times (2013, 2014, 2016, 2017 and 2019).
 
On the historical side, Marvin’s Huskies now own 376 of the 420 times on Bloomsburg’s All -Time Top Ten list.  Additionally, Marvin’s swimmers have received numerous post-season awards, both from the PSAC and Bloomsburg University.  Two have been named PSAC Swimmer of the Year and PSAC Swimmer of the Meet, three have been named PSAC Freshman of the Year, one was named PSAC Scholar Athlete of the Year, while another received the PSAC Sportsmanship Award. Eleven swimmers have been named as Bloomsburg University’s Senior Athlete of the Year, and twelve have been named Bloomsburg University’s Underclass Athlete of the Year.
 
In the classroom, twelve of Marvin’s Huskies have been named Scholar All-Americans and his teams have achieved several Scholar All-American Team awards.   His teams have also totaled 222 PSAC Scholar Athlete awards and 241 Bloomsburg University Scholar Athlete awards.
 
A 1978 graduate of then Bloomsburg State College, Marvin returned to campus in 2008 after spending 30 years in Fort Lauderdale, FL, where he directed the operation of the Fort Lauderdale Aquatic Complex at the International Swimming Hall of Fame. He also oversaw the operation of the Fort Lauderdale Beach Patrol, as well as numerous community pools around the city.  Marvin was involved in coaching with the Fort Lauderdale Swim Team, and Fort Lauderdale Aquatics. He was also an administrator for the College Swimming Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) during their annual Swim Forum.
 
Marvin was an 11-time All-American performer for the Huskies swim team, winning five PSAC titles and establishing six conference records. He was a two-time winner of the school's Underclass Athlete of the Year award and received the Robert B. Redman Award as the school's Senior Athlete of the Year in 1978. Marvin was the first swimmer inducted into the university's Athletic Hall of Fame in 1990. In 2002, he received the prestigious Joseph G. Rogers Award for outstanding service to the YMCA National Swimming & Diving Committee.  In addition to the BU Athletic Hall of Fame, Marvin has been enshrined in four other Halls of Fame: the Pennsylvania Aquatic Hall of Fame (2020), the Upper Dublin High School Athletic Hall of Fame (2018), the Broward County (FL) Sports Hall of Fame (2011) and the Florida Gold Coast Masters Hall of Fame (2005). Marvin is a 2-time FINA Masters World Champion and former Masters world-record holder.  He has won 28 United States Masters national championship titles and is a 13-time YMCA Masters national champion.
 
Marvin and his wife Meg reside in Bloomsburg. Both of their boys, Robert (23) and Matthew (21) are both students at Bloomsburg University.
