Bloomsburg- The Bloomsburg University women's tennis team posted a 6-3 victory over Mercyhurst on Saturday. The women improved to 2-0 in dual meets.

Bloomsburg got to a 2-1 lead over Mercyhurst over doubles. Laura Sullivan (Dingman's Ferry, Delaware Valley) and Andrea Malatesta (Berwick, Berwick) won their second match of the season with an 8-0 win at number three.

In singles play, Alison Carney (Muncy, Warrior Run) sealed the victory for Bloomsburg with a 6-4, 6-4 win. Emily Palko (McMurray, Peters Township) cruised through her match with 6-1, 6-2 win.

Bloomsburg women's tennis hosts Slippery Rock Sunday at 8:30 a.m.
