BLOOMSBURG, Pa. – Lourdes Vallejo (Pereira, Columbia/Liceo Taller San Miguel) captured the Gold Singles championship and teamed with Lily Sierka (Pittsburgh, Pa./Bethel Park) to win the Maroon Doubles flight, highlighting a strong showing by the Bloomsburg women's tennis team at the Husky Invitational at the Burt Reese Tennis Center.

The Huskies swept the top two positions in the Maroon Doubles draw, added a runner-up finish in Gold Doubles and secured the tournament's top Gold Singles finish.

Vallejo worked her way through the Gold Singles bracket before taking control during the championship rounds. She rolled to a 6-0, 6-2 victory over East Stroudsburg's Elessa Jacobs in the semifinals and defeated Jenna Kastell of East Stroudsburg, 6-3, 6-4, to secure the flight title.

Vallejo carried that success into doubles competition alongside Sierka. The Bloomsburg pairing opened the Maroon flight with a dominant 6-0 victory over Kutztown's Mya Marturano and Maddie Gilbert. Vallejo and Sierka advanced to the final by defeating East Stroudsburg's Ariel Kelsick and Kastell, 6-4.

The championship became an all-Bloomsburg matchup after Lia-Sophie Seele (Mülheim, NRW, Germany/Luisenschule) and Dasha Nakonechna (Spain/IOC) advanced through the opposite side of the bracket. Seele and Nakonechna began with a 7-5 victory over Daemen's Marley Conover and Bella Bjerkan before edging Kutztown's Anasstasiya Kim and Isabela de Nadai, 7-6 (5), in the semifinals.

Vallejo and Sierka prevailed in another closely contested set, defeating their Bloomsburg teammates, 7-6 (4), to capture the Maroon Doubles championship. Seele and Nakonechna finished as the flight runners-up.

Macarena Arisio (San Miguel de Tucumán, Tucumán, Argentina/SEADEA) and Sarah Buck (Hughesville, Pa./Hughesville) gave the Huskies another deep doubles run in the Gold flight. The duo defeated Daemen's Bjerkan and Ashley Bonilla, 6-2, before shutting out East Stroudsburg's Bega Gotor and Claudia Ermina, 6-0, in the semifinals. Edinboro's Andrea Rico and Agostina Fernandez topped Arisio and Buck, 6-1, in the championship match.

Bloomsburg's Avery Moran (Palmyra, Pa./Lower Dauphin) and Rebecca Roberts (Hughesville, Pa./Hughesville) also competed in the Gold Doubles bracket.

The Huskies added several notable performances throughout singles play. Ona Marcinkeciute reached the Silver Singles championship match after defeating East Stroudsburg's Stella Kammandel, 6-2, 6-2, in the semifinals. Audrey Conover of East Stroudsburg claimed the flight title by default.

Seele advanced to the Maroon Singles semifinals with a 6-3, 6-3 victory over de Nadai. Nakonechna also competed in the Maroon bracket and closed the tournament with a 4-1, 4-2 consolation victory over de Nadai.

In the Silver draw, Buck recorded a 4-1, 4-1 consolation victory, while Arisio advanced to the semifinals before taking East Stroudsburg's Conover to a match tiebreaker in a 3-6, 6-1, 10-5 setback.

Moran rebounded from an opening-round loss in the White Singles flight to outlast Daemen's Nadja Emmendorfer, 7-5, 1-6, 10-8. Roberts rounded out the Bloomsburg competitors in the Red Singles bracket.
