Kayla Oxenrider scored a game-high 17 points to lead Bloomsburg to a 64-49 win over East Stroudsburg on Wednesday night

BLOOMSBURG-Freshman Kayla Oxenrider (Ashland, Tri-Valley) scored a game-high 17 points to lead the Bloomsburg University women's basketball team to a 64-49 win over East Stroudsburg on Wednesday night at the Nelson Field House. The Huskies stayed unbeaten in the PSAC Eastern Division with the win and improved to 11-4, 3-0 in the PSAC.

The Huskies led for all but a brief 30 second stretch of the first half and used an 8-0 run to grab control of the game at 15-4 with 12:49 to play in the period. Dana Wieller (Bethlehem, Liberty) hit back-to-back three's in the run for Bloomsburg. The Warriors did trim the margin to four points at several spots before halftime, including at the break after getting a layup at the buzzer to trail 30-26 at the break.

Bloomsburg opened the second half outscoring the Warriors 14-8 over the first six minutes of the period to take a double digit lead at 44-34 with 13:51 to play after a bucket by Alyssa Flanagan (Freeland, Hazleton Area). Later leading by eight points, 45-37, Bloomsburg put the game out of reach by going on a 13-2 run led by seven points from Oxenrider to push the lead to 19 points, 58-39. The Warriors would get no closer than 13 points the rest of the way.

Along with Oxenrider's 17 points, Kelsey Gallagher (East Stroudsburg, East Stroudsburg South) and Wieller both scored 15 points for the Huskies. East Stroudsburg, 3-13, 1-2 in the PSAC East, got 13 points from DeAnna Rayam and 12 from Alexa Detzi.
