Women's Soccer Erupts for 4-1 Win Over Davis and Elkins

ELKINS, WV – Freshman Tara Huber (Orefield, Parkland) had two assists and netted two goals for the Bloomsburg University women's soccer team in a 4-1 win over Davis and Elkins College on Saturday afternoon.

The Huskies tried to strike early when they rattled off five shots within 10 minutes of the first half. In the 17th minute of play, junior Katie Walczuk (Long Valley, NJ, West Morris Central) was able to put a goal on the board for the Huskies, after taking a pass from Huber.

It didn't take long for the Huskies to follow up with another goal. Within a three minute time span Huber found junior Natalie Adams (Wilkes-Barre, Holy Redeemer) in front of the goal, who scored her second goal of the season, putting the Huskies up 2-0.

The Huskies would add to its lead at the 29:50 mark when Huber lined up a shot, putting one past the Senators goalkeeper Brenna Tilman. 

 With eight minutes left in the first half, Bonnie Little headed one past goalkeeper Frances Nicoletti (Haddonfield, NJ, Haddonfield), after being fed from Allison Dant.

Huber would come out firing in the second half as she added to the Huskies lead in the 63rd minute, giving herself her sixth goal of the season.

The win was the largest for the Huskies of this season. Rattling off 11 shots for the day on an 11-8 margin and earned five corner kicks.

The Huskies, 9-2-2, will head to Charleston, WV tomorrow, Sunday, October 17th for a 1:00 p.m. start. The Senators, 5-8 will host Salem International Valley on Wednesday, Oct. 20.
