BLOOMSBURG – The Bloomsburg University men's soccer team fell by a 2-0 margin to Shepherd University on Saturday night, dropping the Huskies to 3-5-1 on the season.
Alex Jones put the Rams in front at the 11:53 mark of the opening half after putting one past the Huskies diving freshman keeper Ramon Lobo Jr. (Dillsburg, Northern). The Rams added to their lead eight minutes later after Jeffers Frazier fed the ball to Shane Lowery, who slid into the ball in the left corner of the net.
Going into the second half, the Huskies looked to take the lead, but the Rams had different plans. Shepherd's defense came down hard, allowing only two shots from the Huskies in the half.
The Huskies were able to draw three corner kicks served up by sophomore Tom Natter (North Hills, Abington) and senior Tim Pfender (Langhorne, Neshaminy) with 13 minutes remaining, but none were able to generate a shot on goal as Bloomsburg dropped its second-straight game.
Overall, the Huskies put five of their nine shots on frame but were unable to slip any past the Rams.
The Huskies (3-5-1) will travel to IUP on Wednesday, Oct. 6; Play begins at 2:00 p.m. The Rams (5-4) will continue their travels to Wheeling Jesuit on Oct. 6.
