Box Score

KUTZTOWN – The #25 Bloomsburg University women's soccer team suffered a setback on Saturday, dropping a crucial conference match to #23 Kutztown, 4-1.

The Huskies could never find momentum on the offensive side, taking just nine shots on the afternoon.

Kutztown (11-3-1, 8-3-1 PSAC) jumped out to a quick 1-0 lead in the first half as Carolynne Kahl recorded her first of three goals for KU at the 10:13 mark to make it 1-0 Kutztown.

Just three minutes later, Kahl put the ball past Bloomsburg goalkeeper Frances Nicoletti (Haddonfield, NJ, Haddonfield) for a second time on a penalty kick to make it 2-0 KU.

The Golden Bears recorded two more goals in the second half to put a comeback for the Huskies out of reach.

Kristine Preski (Philadelphia, Owen J. Roberts) scored her fourth goal of the season at the 88:16 mark to put the Huskies on the board, scoring off a feed from Kyleigh Reckage (Manasquan, NJ, Wall).

Bloomsburg held a 10-2 corner kick advantage, but could not convert on any opportunity.

Nicoletti stopped five shots in goal on the afternoon, while Kutztown goalkeeper Casey Behrendt stopped three shots.

Bloomsburg (10-3-3, 8-3-1 PSAC) travels to East Stroudsburg on Oct. 30 for a 6 p.m. kickoff.
