LAFAYETTE HILL--Bryce Shaffer (Gettysburg, Gettysburg Area)scored two goals to lead the Bloomsburg University men's soccer team to a 2-0 win over Chestnut Hill College on Monday night.

The Huskies struck early with Shaffer scoring his first goal just six minutes into the game on the first shot of the game after coming up with the ball on a scramble in front of the net.

Shaffer struck again for Bloomsburg just six and a half minutes later after taking a pass from Michael Del Sordi (Scotch Plains, NJ, Scotch Plains-Fanwood) to make it a 2-0 game.

From there the Bloomsburg defense and goalie Bernie Roell (Douglassville, Daniel Boone) made the two goals stand up. The Huskies also limited the Griffins to just four shots on goal in the final 45 minutes and zero corner kicks.

Bloomsburg improved to 5-8-2 on the season, while Chestnut Hill fell to 9-8. The Huskies will play at East Stroudsburg on Saturday night at 8 p.m.
