RESULTS
CENTER VALLEY—The Bloomsburg University women's cross country team finished second at the DeSales University Invitational on Saturday.
The Huskies finished with 104 points, while Kutztown won the event with 43 points.
Leading the way for the Huskies in 11th place was
Katie Filemyr (Willow Grove, Bishop McDevitt)with a time of 24:09 on the 6,000 meter course, while
Samantha Matthews (Windsor, MD, Glenelg) was 20th in 24:39. Finishing 28th was
Courtney Werner (Hudson, OH, Hudson) in 25:08, while
Katie Meck (Dillsburg, Northern) was close behind in 25:09 in 30th place. Finishing fifth for Bloomsburg was
Martina Drew (Langhorne, Neshaminy) in 25:34.
“We were a little flat after not racing the past two weeks,” said coach
Bernie Empie. “I was happy with the effort we put forth today and I am confident in the coming weeks our team will benefit from the hard work they are doing.”
The Huskies will be at the Lafayette Leopard Invitational on Saturday.
