Bloomsburg Falls in PSAC Women's Tennis Semi-Finals

BLOOMSBURG- The Bloomsburg University women's tennis team lost to Slippery Rock in the semi-finals of the 2010 Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference women's tennis championships on Friday.

In doubles Katie Hasyn (Lansdale/North Penn) and Kristen Bonito (Bridgewater, MA/Coyle Cassidy Memorial) had the Huskies only win posting a score of 9-7 at number two..

In singles play Slippery Rock put the match away with three wins. Andrea Malatesta (Berwick/Berwick) had the only win for Bloomsburg winning by a score of 6-1, 6-1 at number six.

Bloomsburg will face Kutztown in the consolation match on Saturday at 9 a.m.

SEMI-FINAL #2

BLOOMSBURG—The California (PA) University women's tennis beat Kutztown University 5-0 in the semi-finals of the 2010 Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) playoffs on Friday. 

In doubles play California swept all three matches only losing just five games. Alina Stanila and Axelle Fernandez won 8-0 at second doubles.

In singles the Vulcans dominated play winning two quick matches to seal the victory. One of those wins came from Nina Kowalski at four singles winning, 6-0, 6-0.

California University will play Slippery Rock on Saturday for the PSAC championship.
