Tara Huber (Orefield, Parkland) had three goals, helping the Bloomsburg University women's soccer team cruise past the Fighting Scots of Edinboro University 5-1 in Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) action on Friday afternoon.
The scoring started for the Huskies (2-0-1, 1-0-0 PSAC) just 5:33 into the contest, when junior
Natalie Adams (Wilkes-Barre, Holy Redeemer) gave Bloomsburg an early 1-0 lead with a goal from six yards out.
Bloomsburg then took a 2-0 lead at the 25:18 mark when Huber recorded her first-career goal, scoring on the feed from junior
Katie Walczuk (Long Valley, NJ, West Morris Central).
Just minutes into the second half, at the 58:42 mark, Huber notched her second goal of the afternoon, beating Edinboro goaltender Kate Stukbaue to make it a 3-0 game.
Later in the half, Huber iced the game for the Huskies when she completed the hat trick, converting an open-net shot off a feed from Adams.
Six minutes later, Walczuk recorded her second goal of the season off a pass from
Kristine Preski (Philadelphia, Owen J. Roberts), slipping the ball past replacement keeper Lindsay Hampy, opening the Bloomsburg advantage to 5-0.
The Fighting Scots (2-1, 0-1 PSAC) avoided the shutout with a goal late in the game, as freshman Katherine Faller scored off the assist from redshirt freshman Cassee Kiplinger.

Frances Nicoletti (Haddonfield, NJ, Haddonfield) made eight saves in the victory, allowing just the lone goal.
Bloomsburg returns to action on Friday, September 17, as the team hosts Slippery Rock for a 1 p.m. start at the Sports Stadium.
