BLOOMSBURG—The Bloomsburg University women's tennis team opened its 2010-11 season with a 9-0 win over the University of Scranton on Wednesday night.

The Huskies jumped out to a 3-0 lead in doubles with the team of Danielle Walsh (Fairfield, St. John The Baptist) and Kristi Twardziak (Somerdale, Triton Regional ) winning 8-0 at number three.

In singles action the Huskies swept all six matches with Laura Sullivan (Dingman's Ferry, Delaware Valley) winning 6-4,6-0, at number one, while Andrea Malatesta (Berwick, Berwick) won 6-4,6-0, at number four.

Bloomsburg will play Clarion on Friday and Saturday against IUP and the Golden Eagles.
