BLOOMSBURG –
Amanda Riley (Tannersville, Pocono Mountain East) scored an early first-half unassisted goal to lead the Bloomsburg University field hockey team to a 1-0 win over Mercyhurst (1-4) on Saturday afternoon.
At the 18:18 mark in the first half, Riley scored her fourth goal of the season when she put the ball into the left side of the net, beating Mercyhurst goalkeeper Ashley Wiskup, making it 1-0 BU.

Nikki Rhoads and the offense would need on the day, as the defense allowed just four second-half shots by the Lakers.
Bloomsburg held a 30-4 shots advantage and a 12-3 penalty corner advantage.
Wiskup made 16 saves on the day, while BU's
Meghan Hollenbach (Blandon, Fleetwood) made one save.
Bloomsburg (4-1) will visit Shippensburg on Saturday, Sept. 25, for a 1 p.m. start. The Huskies will return home on Saturday, Oct. 2, hosting PSAC East rival East Stroudsburg for a 12 p.m. start.
