LOCK HAVEN- The Bloomsburg University men's soccer team defeated Lock Haven in Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) action 3-1 on Saturday afternoon. With the win the Huskies improve to 3-4-1 on the season, while the Eagles drop to 6-3.
The scoring began 17 minutes into the contest, when
Billy Pasukinis scored off an assist from
Martin Pletz to put the Eagles up 1-0. Bloomsburg knotted the game at 1-1 at the 32:19 mark when
Bryce Shaffer (Gettysburg, Gettysburg Area) scored on a penalty kick.
The Huskies took a 2-1 lead early in the second half when Shaffer scored his second goal of the game off an assist from
Fran Miller (Doylestown, Central Bucks East) in the 50th minute.
Anthony Manero (Richboro, Council Rock North) would add another goal for the Huskies at the 71:08 mark to secure the Bloomsburg victory. Shaffer would be credited with his second assist of the game.
Lock Haven led the huskies in shots 21-10, while both teams finished with five corner kicks each.
BU goalie
Bernie Roell (Douglassville, Daniel Boone) recorded 10 saves, while his counterpart stopped just two of the Huskies shots.
Bloomsburg will host Gannon on Wednesday, October 5 in a PSAC matchup. Game time is set for 2:00 p.m.
