CLERMONT, FL—Sam Pientack (Archbald/Valley View) went 3-3 while driving in two runs and scoring twice to lead the Bloomsburg University softball team to a 10-2, five-inning win over Limestone on Thursday night in Florida.

The Huskies jumped out to a 5-0 lead in the bottom of the first inning. After Lacy Mauro (Jersey Shore/Jersey Shore) and Danielle Lazorka (Williamsport/Jersey Shore) hit back-to-back singles leading off the game, Pientack tripled putting Bloomsburg up 2-0. Emily Young (Nescopeck/Central Columbia) then reached on a bunt single putting runners at first and third. Mandi Baer (Douglassville/Daniel Boone) then singled home Pientack for a 3-0 lead. Later Jenna Hampton (Catawissa/Southern Columbia) lined a two-run single for a 5-0 lead.

Bloomsburg added to its lead in the bottom of third with Raychelle Kuhns (Williamsport/Loyalsock) and Mauro each getting RBI hits. After Limestone scored twice in the fourth to make it 7-2, the Huskies scored three times in the bottom of the fourth to make it 10-2.

Pitcher Shavaun Fisher (Coplay/Allentown Central Catholic) then closed out the game for Bloomsburg on the mercy rule by retiring the side after giving up a leadoff single. Fisher ended up allowing five hits in the game, while striking out seven and not allowing a walk.
