HILTON HEAD, SC - The Bloomsburg University women's tennis team won the second match of a doubleheader on Sunday downing Marian University, 6-3.
The Huskies fell behind 2-1 after doubles with the number one team of
Emily Palko (McMurray/Peters Township) and
Michelle Perez (Center Valley/Southern Lehigh) getting Bloomsburg's lone win by a score of 8-2.
In singles play, Bloomsburg rebounded winning five out of six match victories. Led by
Sarah Fisher (Cherry Hill, NJ/Cherry Hill West) winning 6-1, 6-2 at number five singles, the Huskies gained the momentum as the night progressed. At number four singles,
Kristi Twardziak (Somerdale, NJ/Triton Regional ) won a long and intense split-set match decided by a super-tiebreaker 6-2, 4-6, (10-3)
The Huskies improve to 5-1 after Sunday night's win over Marian with their next match scheduled for Tuesday morning against Wingate University..
