BLOOMSBURG- Sophomore
Tara Huber (Orefield, Parkland) had two goals, helping the Bloomsburg University women's soccer team cruise past Davis and Elkins 4-0 in non-conference action Thursday afternoon for the season opener for both teams.
The scoring for the Huskies started just 9:50 into the contest, when
Kyleigh Reckage (Manasquan, NJ, Wall) took a shot on net and Huber then knocked the ball in off a deflection save from Senators goalkeeper Ashley Winkelspecht.
Bloomsburg then took a 2-0 lead at the 12:48 mark when
Laura Wrona (Easton, Easton) scored a high shot to the right corner off a feed from Huber.
With less than 10 minutes left in the first half, senior
Katie Walczuk (Long Valley, NJ, West Morris Central) shot one to the back of the net after receiving the ball off a deflection, putting the Huskies up 3-0.
Huber would ice the game for the Huskies offense 4-0, finding the back of the net for her second goal of the day after receiving a cross pass from sophomore
Jamie Vaniver (Holland, Council Rock South).

Frances Nicoletti (Haddonfield, NJ, Haddonfield) earned her first victory of the year by making one save.
Bloomsburg held a 16-4 shots on goal advantage on the afternoon.
For the Senators (0-1) Dant, McCartney, Fedora and Gustitis each recorded a shot in the loss.
The Huskies (1-0) will be back in action on Wednesday at Chestnut Hill. Kickoff is set for 4 pm.
