SHIPPENSBURG—The Bloomsburg University men's soccer team played to a 1-1 tie with Shippensburg University on Saturday in a PSAC (Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference) matchup.

The Huskies took a 1-0 lead in the game with 21:35 left in the opening period when Fran Miller (Doylestown/Central Bucks East) scored unassisted on Shippensburg goalie Andrew Foran.

Shippensburg tied the score at 1-1 in the 49th minute When Derrick Roy scored off a ben Welhbrecht assist.

The Huskies had a chance to get the potential game-winning score late in regulation, but a shot by Alex Ruhfass (Newtown/Council Rock North) was high and one by Cale Bauer (Fleetwood/Fleetwood) with 30 seconds left was wide.

In the second overtime session Bloomsburg goalie Bernie Roell (Douglassville/Daniel Boone) made a save on shot to keep the game knotted at 1-1.

Bloomsburg goes to 1-3-1, 1-1-1 in the PSAC, while Shippensburg is now 2-3-1, 1-2-1 in the PSAC.
