SHIPPENSBURG--The Bloomsburg University women's soccer team picked up a big road win on Saturday downing Shippensburg University, 1-0, in a PSAC (Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference) matchup.

The first half was scoreless with the Huskies holding an 8-3 edge in shots on goal and 4-3 edge in corner kicks.

Then early in the second half, in the 52nd minute of play, Bloomsburg was awarded a penalty kick after having a player taken down in the box.

Senior Katie Walczuk (Long Valley, NJ/West Morris Central) delivered for the Huskies beating Shippensburg goalie Shelbie Rackley.

Bloomsburg goalie Frances Nicoletti (Haddonfield, NJ/Haddonfield) was credited with just one save, but played a great game in goal intercepting five crossing passes which helped keep the home team off the board.

The Huskies, 4-3, 3-2 in the PSAC, play at Slippery Rock next Friday at 3:30 p.m.
